  • This is the go-to page for everything veteran and military student related.  From applying for Ohio State to Financial Aid and GI Bill info, from Housing to Academic Resources.  We're actively working to improve the site and if you think we should add something, please send us an email and we'll be sure you have all the information you need.

  • Vets 4 Vets is a chapter of Student Veterans of America. The SVA is a national organization of Student Veterans that work to improve the experiences of Veterans attending college.

Medical and Mental Help

  • The Department of Veteran Affairs online resource for managing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. There is also an app for this available on Google Play and iTunes.

  • An organization dedicated to being the most reliable, timely and complete resource for brain injury veterans survivors.

Filling A VA Claim
  • If you are think­ing of fil­ing a claim with the Depart­ment of Vet­er­ans Affairs for dis­abil­ity compensation, AMVETs has resources to help.
  • The Military Injury Relief Fund provides grants to service members who were injured while serving in theater under Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) or Operation New Dawn.  The intent is to partly help returning injured veterans and their families make ends meet upon a veteran's return home. 


Job Search and Unemployment

  • Military members coming off of Active Duty are eligible for unemployment. Student Veterans are also able to collect without completing the job search requirement.

  • Receive up to $1500, just for being an Ohio resident and serving on Active Duty. The deadline to apply is December 31st, 2013


·         Having trouble transferring you military skills to a civilian equivalent for your resume? The military skills translator can do that for you. Put in your branch, grade, and MOS and get a list of skills and jobs.


·         Ohio values your service in the military and has the top careers, employers and transition tools to help ease your transition from active duty to a new career.


·         If you’re starting a small business, the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) Starting a Business guide is an invaluable resource.

  • On this site you will gain access to thousands of employers committed to seeking veterans for positions all over the world, uncover personal stories narrated by some of your favorite artists, and find valuable employment resources available from the most trusted sources.



Miscellaneous Resources

  • Yoga Warriors is a beginner yoga class for military personnel, veterans, first respondents, and their families. This class is designed to introduce the basics of yoga and will include positive affirmations, yoga postures, breathing, and relaxation techniques. This class emphasizes emotional healing and will focus on a relaxed pace in a safe and nurturing environment. Yoga is a simple, effective technique that delivers inner peace, vibrant health and relaxation. Just mention that you are a Veteran for free class sessions.  Owner is really great at working with Veterans

  •  Veterans Advantage is a national program that partners with corporations that want to do their part to honor and thank all who serve our country. Their partner companies show their appreciation and thanks by providing preferred pricing on their goods or services every day. (This is a PAID service open to active duty, veterans, and their families)

  • Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) takes a holistic approach when serving warriors and their families to nurture the mind and body, and encourage economic empowerment and engagement. Through a high-touch and interactive approach, WWP hopes to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our nation's history.
